Dr.
Dimitry
Shevchenko
Head of India & Indonesia Department
Dr. Shevchenko's focus is on the history of Sanskrit philosophy, with a special emphasis on Brahmanical philosophical traditions in classical India, including Sāṃkhya, Yoga, Advaita-Vedānta, Nyāya, and Mīmāṃsā. I study the concept of mind in light of Indian soteriology and the different ways of theorizing mental phenomena, such as perception, cognitive states, and thought processes, as potential vehicles for liberating transcendence.
